Project Overview

About the project

HiFi Quest is an online platform that connects buyers and specialist dealers of high-end audio equipment. Users can easily find, buy, or sell new and used premium speakers, headphones, amplifiers, and other audio gear. It is cloud-based, easy to use, needs no installation, and helps users connect directly while showing what is available and in demand.

HiFi Quest was built for a team that knew high-end audio is bought on trust: buyers want to see what is actually for sale, dealers want enquiries from people who are serious. The brief was a cloud platform with nothing to install, where both sides find each other quickly.

The Challenges

What we had to solve

  1. Matching a want list to new stock Buyers save what they are looking for, so every new listing is checked against the saved searches and the alert goes out without waiting for a nightly batch.
  2. Photo-heavy listings that still load Audio gear is sold on its photographs, so images are served in several sizes and the rest of a gallery loads only as it is opened.
  3. Dealers and private sellers side by side The two carry different obligations, so a listing states its seller type and a search can be narrowed to either.
  4. Knowing what is in demand Views, saves and enquiries are counted per model, so the platform can show dealers what people are actually looking for.
