The platform was built for a business whose earnings were worked out in a spreadsheet at the end of every month and argued about at the start of the next. They wanted staff, shifts and earnings in one place, with a figure each person can check for themselves.

The Challenges
What we had to solve
- Earnings rules that differ by role Rates, bonuses and deductions are set per role and per period, so a change applies from a date instead of rewriting what has already been paid.
- Fixing a closed period A correction made after a payout is recorded as an adjustment carried into the next period, which keeps the earlier figures intact.
- Everyone sees their own Staff see their own earnings and nothing else while a manager sees the team, both from one permission model.
- Getting the figures out Period totals export in the shape the payroll process expects, so the platform does not have to become a payroll system.
